@strottart:

There's no need to retract your post at tenforums.com
As a courtesy to the helpers there, however, I suggest that you reply there to inform them that you are being helped elsewhere.

I am bowing out here only because @pkshadow is helping you with extensive lists of expert recommendations.

It will likely only confuse & frustrate you to be assisted simultaneously by multiple helpers.

Cheers

To respond to PKShadow:

I removed Wallpaper Engine. I use a VPN sparingly, and I will look into figuring out how to let the Steelseries and Defender go through it. I generally do not have Mullvad up or a VPN on 90% of the time.
I do not have any cracked Adobe software or games, I pay for the complete adobe suite, and I pay for all my games as well.
I have no idea what this japanese "フォントエクスプローラー" application is. I did notice that in the report I posted, I have no idea what it is or how to remove it.
I do not know the make, model, age and wattage of my PSU, is there some way I can check without opening my PC up?
I truly apologize if I have offended or bothered anyone, I pay for all my games and software, I am only following support from this forum and I am trying to follow it to the exact T.
I am very desperate to get my system running again, my job depends on it. Thanks again.

Ok, had me freaked for a min as some how got a A rather than the V page....

All is oK, should Update the Intel 1st by rule of thumb as other BOIS updates say to do so.

rename BIOS to PZ490V.CAP

Se page 53 : https://www.manuals.ca/asus/prime-z490-v/manual?p=53

If yesterday was the initiation of problems and you either have a disk image backup...or you use Windows System Restore...that is the route that I would suggest.

With the presence of your torrent program...I would not dismiss the possiblity of malware.  Combining the torrent program with your AV update problems suggests such, IMO.

A/V is blocked by OP's VPN (I think) as is the Steel Series Program.

While in BIOS turn off ASUS Fast Boot for the same reason as below.

Turn Off MS Fast Start : https://www.windowscentral.com/how-disable-windows-10-fast-startup

Yes since you do not sat what MBAM quarantined a visit to the Malware Removal Forum maybe warranted,

I have my all my work related files backed up on an external but i dont have a disk image backup per se. I have never used Windows System Restore...can I use it if I haven't set it up before? What is the risk of losing all my data?
@PKShadow I apologize I am still having issues figuring out updating my BIOS, I read over the documentation you sent but its still not clear to me.
The BIOS update contains these files:

PRIME-Z490-V-ASUS-1621.CAP
PZ490V.CAP
BIOSRenamer.exe

Running the BIOSRenamer.exe opens a terminal with a message that reads
"This file has been renamed to PZ490V.cap"
To use USB BIOS Flashback, copy PZ490V.CAP to the root of your USB flash drive.

Press any key to continue . . .

and when I press a key, the terminal closes. Does this mean the BIOS is updated?
Do I need to use a USB for this?

Also, the file quarantined was a file from an app called PowerISO, a disk mounting utility, which I had downloaded and used some months ago but not since.
Running MalwareBytes again comes up with no threats or detections.

I have disabled fast boot thru my BIOS and MS Fast Start is not even an option on my system and followed every direction given to me in this forum, the problem is still persisting. I am still not 100% sure I updated my BIOS, I detailed what I did exactly and am hoping for some feedback on this. As per Hamlius's suggestion, should I go check out the malware removal page? Should I discontinue trying to get support here? I am under duress and have already lost a full day's work to this with no progress made so far. Thanks again for any and all help.

another detail that may be of importance is that my VPN has not been on throughout this entire process
