Dell Inspiron, 9th gen, i5 with Win 10

Just got a new Verizon 300/300 router. Operating desktop wireless for first time. Only getting 30/30 on desktop. iPad gets 300/300 right next to it.

Is this the best speed you get on a desktop or is there a way to increase it? Thanks.

Is one showing Bits (300 Mbps) and the other Bytes (30 MB/s)?

No, both mbps tested with Ookla with same server in same location at same time. Looks like my desktop has a basic WiFi card, Qualcom QCA9565 with 144/72 link speed. Looks like I need to run an Ethernet cable.

Yep, I have been looking into a Wi-Fi adaptor PCIe card. If I install a new card or USB adaptor, do I have to disable the factory Wi-Fi adaptor?

You don't have to disable the existing one, but it is often less confusing to do so - just open Device Manager, go to Network adapters right-click on the old adapter and select Disable device
